If you think you have no opportunities because you're in the middle of nowhere, you have already lost your battle and you should stay home and stop trying. The honest truth is that in this world, talent and $3 will get you a cup of coffe at Starbucks. Talent does nothing by itself. One needs to work hard and be ready for opportunities when they come and we all know this is easier said than done. This is what Eric Seiler has been teaching the young musicians at Yreka High School for at least 6 years and this year, they sung at Carnegie Hall at the 50th Aniversry Celebation of the King Singers.

Yreka is a town with a population shy of 8,000 and the funds for education are clearly limited. However, against all odds, Eric has managed to get innumerable generous contributions to build up a music program that has clearly made a big difference in the life of those young musicians. In other words, Eric has taught those kids how to make something out of what most people would call nothing.

This is the recording that got YHS Choir a ticket to perform in Carnegie Hall
