​The world of classical music is full of interpreters and this is what makes the experience much more rewarding. Compared to recordings that will always sound the same, you have a factor of surprise that only a classical musician can deliver. This is both an accident and a crafted intention. First of all, the performer has to deliver music to a particular intellectual standard as he is trying to embed his own signature into the music. The nature of a live concert opens the doors for some magic moments that will never ever happen in a recording studio or in the practice room. Therefore, the musician is allowing for accidental magical moments to unfold when they occur. The crafted intention is to capitalize the most out of those moments.

When you go to a live performance, you are opening yourself to witness those magical moments unfold. Musicians need performances because it allows us to fulfill our needs and to test what works and what doesn't. On the side of the listener, you are being exposed to the beauty of human nature in the most exposed and vulnerable stage. We as classical musicians do not have a technological trick to hide our flaws, mistakes and insecurities.
