Do Guitarists actually suffer of a God complex?
It's interesting to see how many people start playing guitar because they are on their way to fame and fortune. The truth is that the music industry (backed by Hollywood) has made the figure of the guitar player into a semi-divine figure of awesomeness. Today, new guitar players have to suffer from the reputation created by the previous generation of guitar players. So for the sake of underlining a few of our flaws, here's a few jokes to lighten the issues and make some awareness of the problems one might encounter when saying the infamous phrase: "I play guitar"

A: Everyone is relieved when the case is closed.
A young child told his mother "When I grow up I'm going to be a guitarist." His mother responded "Well honey, you know you can't do both."
So we use those jokes to keep our ego in check... sometimes...
